WHAT’S UP EVERYBODY – This week John is joined by Dexter Duran as we sit down and talk about Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9. We talk about what the games are, from traditional fantasy, to futuristic dystopia. We talk about the ever changing magic system, and how FF 9 was the gateway to the series for new players. Dexter explains why grinding is important, as well as a discussion on modern remakes with save states, and cheats in the modern realm. We explain the morality of the games, as well as why it was mirrored in Japanese culture, and how good vs evil was the backbone of the games. We also talk about MMO’s, why John didn’t get into the series, and how the gameplay evolved, and also stayed the same, and of course the music, which is considered the greatest music in video game history.
John also spends a few minute talking about the next season of The 90’s Podcast, and what is happening in the world today.
